Tunes on the Tube..

So have you ever heard a song on a TV show and wondered what the name of the song was? I know for a fact that I've had a certain song stuck on my mind after listening to it on TV and try as I might I could never find it by doing a search on Yahoo or Google. But here is a site that breaks it down by TV show and by the season of that TV show, what's even better it even gives you the links to iTunes or Amazon so you can purchase the songs online..

Check it out and have some fun... don't forget to leave your comment!

Good Morning and Evening...

I like food, then again who doesn't? But I love finding out new places to go and eat at, especially if the food is good. Of course it's even better if the food is inexpensive and the portions are good, but one more thing that's just as important is good service and here you get it all. So now, without further ado, let me tell you about this place that I really like to visit as often was I can...

Find your WAZE around…

So I’ve been around Kuwait for some time now, I know my way around for the most part and I’m pretty good at getting to places I’ve needed to get to with the worst directions that anyone can give (Some of my wife’s friends are notorious for that). I’ve got a great sense of direction and I DO NOT get lost easily, but sometimes you do need some help. In my earlier post about Kuwait Electronic Guide I showed you guys a website that can show you things in Kuwait that Google Earth/Maps cannot. Now I’m going to show you something for those of you with smartphones, and it is called Waze…

I've been absent..

Sorry that I haven't been around for those of you that have noticed and have asked, I suffered catastrophic computer failure and had to reload my O.S. (Operating System). Then some components had gone bad and needed replacing, that along with work and personal stuff piling on prevented me from providing the quality posts you all deserve. I say that because I didn't want to rely on lame YouTube video links or copying another Blog's posts, I want to stay original and give you guys a good reason to come back here...

Thanks for your patience and stay tuned because I've got some good stuff for you guys!!

Kuwait Electronic Guide

I’ve been in Kuwait for quite some time now, and although it’s easy for me to get around now it hasn’t always been the case. Initially I bothered some of my friends or co-workers to find my way around, but then I used GPS devices or various apps for my phones. But like I said before, now it’s easy for me to get around but every once in a while I do need some help finding an obscure neighborhood so I’m going to share with you a site that helps me out once in a while…

Customer service

So you’ve booked a plane ticket and the service was horrible, maybe you booked a hotel only to find out it wasn’t what it looked like on their website. Perhaps you are looking to buy something but would like numerous people’s opinion of it rather than some critic, or you are looking to see if that gift you got two months ago is being recalled. Maybe you are just plain old trying to get ahold of an actual customer service rep on the phone, instead of a computerized voice leading you on without getting an answer. Whatever it is that ails you, I am going to try and help you out by sharing some tips with you, so let’s get started…

    Diabetes and Glycemic Index

Ok, let start this post by saying that I am NOT a Doctor, dietician nor have I had medical training in this particular area. But what I can say is that as someone with Type 2 diabetes I live this every day, and after having ignored this issue for a few years I’ve finally come to grips with the fact that I am a Diabetic and that I’ve got to take better care of myself. So with that out of the way, let’s get started…

    Azteca Authentic Mexican Food Restaurant

Last week I was invited to a private event by the owners of Azteca Authentic Mexican Food Restaurant, they were inviting some close friends to their restaurant to sample some of the items on their menu and to give them an honest opinion about those items. They did this over a period of two days, Friday February 3rd and Saturday February 4th, 2012 with half of the group invited on one day and the other half the following day. American, Australian, French, Italian, Kuwaiti, Mexican, Scottish, Spanish, Syrian and Venezuelan nationals all got a chance to have a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine.

So let me tell you about Azteca, the owner is a Mexican lady who also participates in various exhibitions throughout Kuwait selling traditional Mexican Huipil dresses. The Chef is also Mexican with a degree in gastronomy with 12 years of experience having worked in several cities throughout Mexico such as Cancun, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Puebla and recently in Oaxaca where he worked at Fuego y Sazon restaurant located in the historic Jalatlaco area.

    Kuwait Info Connect 2012

So here we are coming up on my favorite Expo in Kuwait, the 31st International Information Technology, Office Systems and Communications Exhibition otherwise known as Info Connect 2012. I have to say that I really don't know how often they have exhibitions in the Mishref Fairgrounds, mostly because a lot of them don't interest me that much but also because I don't see them advertised as much. But this one is different in that you can't read a Blog in Kuwait without reading about Info Connect every year.

Now I think that mostly has to do with the fact that most people with Blogs are tech savvy, and Info Connect is all about technology or things somehow connected to technology. This is the time where most people renew their Internet, Telephone or Satellite TV subscriptions, and that's because normally the companies offering those services are offering above average discounts. Rumor has it however that because of last year's Internet protests here in Kuwait and the already low prices of Internet packages, they will not be lower than what they currently are but certainly lower than what they were last year during last year's Info Connect and the subsequent months.

So for those of you that want to attend here is the information:

Location: Mishref International Fairgrounds, Hall 6
Official opening: Sunday 29th of January, 2012 at 10:00am for VIP’s.
    Normal opening: 30 January - 04 February 2012
    Operating hours: 9:00am - 1pm and 4:30pm-9pm
Admission price: Free and open to the public, excluding the 29th of January

    My Windows 8 review

The first thing I want to point about Windows 8 is that it’s not your typical OS, it has been designed to work on everything from a Tablet up to a big screen TV in your living room in a HTPC otherwise known as a Home Theater PC. It's got the Windows Phone 7 Metro-style touch interface of live tiles, and it is a touch based interface but we can still use a keyboard and mouse for those of us planning on using it on our PC’s.

    My 2nd day..

So today is my second day, and second post on this blog, and I'm still working out all the kinks in this thing. Trying out new things and seeing which ones really fit my sense of style which, I'll be honest, isn't that good. But anyways for those few that might be reading this now in the beginning please bear with me as I work it all out, hopefully for the better.

Not a classy picture I know, but I am not a graphic designer.

    Welcome to by Blog...

So this being my first blog, and my first post on the blog I wanted to start out by saying a little about myself. I'm an American happily living in Kuwait with my wife and kids, and while many people may not like Kuwait I can honestly say that it is definitely not for everyone but we are very happy here. We've now been here for almost 5 years in which time we've met a lot of good people, and made some great friends along the way.

So anyways I'll be posting about things happening around the region, events in Kuwait, my review on movies I see here in the theater, restaurants (Like that doesn't happen already huh? hehehe). I'll also be giving tips and reviews for PC users, reviews on mobile Apps on both Android and iOS aka Apple's mobile operating system. I'll really be covering a wide range of subjects really, but one thing you will not see here is me taking sides on religious or political matters in Kuwait. I could go into detail, but in reality when it comes to religious or political topics in Kuwait things can get more heated than normal. That's not to say that I will not talk about these things, I just won't take sides. That being said, I hope to see you guys in here. Come by often since I'll really try to update this at least 2 times a week, maybe more as the ideas start flowing... Oh and just because you won't see me talking about my wife and kids, it doesn't mean that they are not a part of my life. They very much are part of my private life, just not my online public life.
